Clutter Designer

Just as there are interface designers for GTK+ and Qt, is there an interface designer for Clutter? If there is, how can it be installed in Ubuntu?

Does the project page mention such a tool ? If not, why are you asking ?

Kenny_Strawn 08-19-2010 09:19 PM

I'm looking all over the Wiki, and sometimes merely searching isn't going to do the trick as the app could ultimately have a name without the word 'Designer' in it at all (look at Glade for instance).

So, after reading the whole project site, can you tell whether such an application (like 'glade' or 'Qt designer') exists ?

Maybe it's not related to the Clutter dev team?

gtk+ site mentions 'glade' and Qt site mentions 'Qt designer'. Typically projects advertise tools helping to use them.

I would also assume so, but who knows...

(and BTW Qt Designer is made by the same people who made Qt itself)

Sergei Steshenko 08-20-2010 08:25 AM

Back to the obvious - the project most likely has some kind of users Email list. Or developers list. So for the OP the trivial thing to do is to subscribe to the list (if necessary) and to simply ask the question about the GUI designer tool existence.

The problem is, wikis are hard to navigate as there is no single repository of links to wiki pages. You have to search and if the title of the designer page does not include 'Designer' in it, it isn't going to help much.

There can be pretty many synonyms for the word "laziness".

Say that in my blog and I'll ban you via the ignore list.

This is the very thing I'm talking about here: not helping but merely adding to the problem. This is not only against my blog Code of Conduct but against the LQ Rules in general.

Edit: Reported.

...

One of my favorite anecdotes is about a sadist and a masochist:

The masochist: "Please, please cause me pain !".
The sadist: "No, I won't".

Searched and found this:

http://git.clutter-project.org/cluttersmith/

Apparently, this is what I'm looking for.

So why did you open the thread in the first place ? To be reminded that you need to be persistent in your search ?

I don't understand how your blog is connected to this thread...
