Changing file attributes automatically on update to a server

Hi,

I'm working using the find command with -mtime to keep track of files added to my server remotely. I will set it to scan for files daily. The problem is that using the -mtime command, if the files were created weeks ago but only uploaded yesterday, they will not be detected by a -mtime 1 command. Is there any way I can automatically change the modification date on incoming files to the current date and time?

Thanks

What method are you using to upload the files?

I have the users using winscp so they should be uploaded using the scp command or perhaps sftp depending on how I set up the users. I honestly can't remember. I will fnid out and post a reply.

You might want to try using -ctime 'updated each time the file's inode changes', which would happen when uploaded (I believe).
