I am having the same problem but being new to Linux I'm a bit reluctant to upgrade kdevelop, are there any other options?

I am using KDevelop 3.0.2 (Using KDE 3.2.1) as installed by SuSE 9.1 with all the latest patches. Why are SuSE distributing a version that does not work? and what are the implications of insalling it outside Yast?

Although the user manual is not yet written in this area I get the impression that I need to tell the compliler to put debug
information in the compiled program before I can debug the program?

I cant find compiler options in kdevelop? I have looked under
Project->Project Options and also under settings->Configure but I cant
find anything about compiler options.

Can I get the compiler to put debug information in the output while I am debugging but not in the completed code?

Thanks for any ideas, Martin
