ProgrammingThis forum is for all programming questions.
The question does not have to be directly related to Linux and any language is fair game.

Wrong forum, and it looks like advertising to me anyway.
Sorry, but I do not have posted it for advertising, but for sharing what I though helpful documents . As syg00 has said most of the books are available for download. If you would like to buy the printed version, then it is your own decision.
Regarding the forum, I have thought that as most of the books concerns programming, this was a suitable forum. But if a moderator thinks differently, then feel free to move this post in a better location .
Personally I find this forum suitable enough, as the (free) books are indeed all for advanced users and/or programmers.
The topics covered are diverse, so Linux General would have been a lot better in my opinion. I mean things like Webmin and Samba have nothing to do whatsoever with programming.
I have read some of the books from that site and they are pretty good..
yes thanks for the link.. they have had the books for free for a long time but one would usually have to run all over their site to look for them..
and btw. near half the books are about programming so this is as good as forum as any.. whats with the nitpicking ?
There is no nit picking going on, just people expressing their opinions. There are many people that don't take part in the programming forum who could benefit from those books, so I think whoever initially suggested that this go into something like Linux General was correct.
i think you are missing my point. my point was not the difference between linux-general and general. which btw, i dont visit either of them very often. but rather my point was that why is it necessary for something that has content which is 50% programming, and 50% other to be put in somthing other than programming,
why when someone (who only registered last month) posts a helpful link that is applicable to this forum, must it be picked at and said to be in the wrong place. obviously a mod did not see fit to move it, so couldnt it be let be.
regardless, im not going to continue this reddazz, as i normally enjoy your opinions, and anyhow we are probably not going to end up agreeing on this..

I am not sure why this is winding you up. Nobody is picking on the OP as your post seems to suggest. I also do not see anything wrong with other forums members making suggestions such as "oh this post could have been better in xyz forum" regardless of how long a user has been registered here. It seems like you are making a big issue out of nothing. Anyway lets move on to something else because dwelling on this issue is not constructive to anyone.
