Bios calls!!


hi all
Do anyone know about bios calls in linux....?
why they are used?

Huh? Could you be more specific, e.g. where is called what? What do you need / want to achieve?

Normally after boot the bios is down and out .

i was asking whether there exists any system calls/ kernel APIs that will give the bios settings of our machine...??

There was a thread on this, just last week. Consensus was, that no, there is nothing for all settings (time and date can get read out though). I'll have a look and be back...
