I'm trying to improve in bash scripting so i've started with this Guide wich is very good to learn with btw.
Every chapter concludes a few exercises wich are easily done in Terminal.
When it comes to solutions web search finds a few matches eventually but i couldn't find a complete solution wich would be handy in some cases.
Does anyone know if there are complete solutions to this guide and where they are found?
If you have sysinit, and not systemd, there's a bundle of scripts in /etc/rc.d/init.d/ or some nearby place. There's also a bundle in /etc/acpi & /etc/acpi/events, and you'll get neat working scripts on your own box that have comments in line. Then get adventurous
Code:
cd /usr/bin # or any binary dir
file * |egrep 'shell script'
You'll find all the shell scripts your box runs on. They work - all of them.
I've found This guide on advanced bash scripting to be helpful and it does show clips or examples, not always fully done up scripts, but instead sections to cite the points that are trying to be made.
I think you have the basic guide which I include in my signature. I also wrote a blog entry, see signature, about debugging bash scripts. You might like some of the ideas in there.
