Backing up to SCSI tape drive

Hi all,

I'm trying to work out the command (or commands) to back up my hard drive to tape on /dev/st0

So far I found this using Google:

Code:
find . -print | cpio -ovH crc -O /dev/st0
However, I want to exclude these directories: /proc, /dev and /mnt

How do I go about this? I am new to bash scripting.

delete them first (joke)

You could explicitly name them, simple and safe

find /etc /usr /boot /blah | cpio
