about timers

Hi,
I am using setitimer( ITIMER_REAL ) to set the duration to get a SIGALRM signal. problem is, through some other syscall, this timer ( related to setitimer ) is getting reset. Does anyone know the systemcall other than setitimer which uses this timer( related to setitimer );
please reply me,
thanks &regards
Eshwar.

Quote from man 2 alarm:
Code:
NOTES
       alarm and setitimer share the same timer; calls to one
       will interfere with use of the other.

       sleep() may be implemented using SIGALRM; mixing calls to
       alarm() and sleep() is a bad idea.
Too bad it doesn't mention the same thing in the setitimer man page.
