A little help with Glade 3 and gtkmm

I've been learning gtkmm for a while now and I have to say that I've grown quite fond of it mostly because C++ is my native tongue. However one thing I've noticed is that as my projects become more aspirational as far as the UI is concerned, manually hard-coding a UI is a severely cumbersome task. Enter Glade.

I'm not too familiar with Glade but what I have seen/used so far is pretty good. What I'm confused with is how to actually implement a Glade file into a gtkmm program. I followed the steps provided on the gtkmm documentation website and when I run the application it just doesn't show anything at all on my monitor. No window widget, none of the widgets I placed into the dummy window, nadda. And since the tutorial on the actual Glade website is for GTK+, it kinda means I'm left at the mercy of whatever scraps I can throw together from the internet. Another problem is that I wouldn't mind buying a book on this but there seems to be a lack of print on this topic. Not so much the case for GTK+ however but some print on Glade or gtkmm would be nice.

Anywho, if anyone out there is a Glade expert or if anyone knows a really good Glade-to-gtkmm tutorial I can take a look at I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

I as well, have been in search for such a tutorial, I have found a couple on YouTube that aren't very good.
I can stand only so many of these: "ummm...", "But you really don't need to worry about this now..", "we'll just comment this out for now...", "...dont worry about this", "uhhh...", "errr...".

I'm in a C++ II class and my teacher has allowed me to use GTK+ in my final project as opposed to the standard M$ tools and I'm trying to get a running start. I found a book on GDK+ but it is meant for C programming and the class requires a C++ program. I have found no print on gtkmm, I suspect that an expert on the subject could produce a profitable book.

haha I love it when I'm reading a programming book and see this kind of material in there. Unfortunately it's like a double edged sword. Some instructors like to introduce material that sometimes has to contain some content that won't be understandable initially just to explain a certain concept. However this also makes it slightly more intimidating to those who are a bit apprehensive about learning programming or those who don't take a seriously technical approach to the field.

But then again it really isn't making it any easier on myself either. I guess I'm stuck with flipping though the API listing on Programmer's Help.
