hi,

I have a "swing" problem and i thought that
maybe someone can help me.

i wrote a program and i wanted to creat a gui to run it.
as i said i used swing for this pourpse.
i use mozilla in unix as the web browser that loads the applet.
I use jdk1.4.2.

i checked my program and it works fine as an application(the application
doesn't use Swing).
the problems begins when I try to use it as an applet.

when i click the start button, in the frame that i created, the mozilla
window is being closed and the program crashes. in the open shell I see one of these two messages:
1.
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Plugin instance index out of bounds 29248

System error?:: Success


------------------------- or ----------------------------
2.
INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Pipe closed during read? State may be corrupt

System error?:: Success


[ i noticed one more strange thing:
the program runs fine as an applet in mozilla, just if i first run it as an
application from the shell.
otherwise it crashes....]

did anybody ever saw such a thing?
does anyone has any idea if this is a common problem or maybe i did something
wrong?

p.s
the applet that i am using is digitally signed - maybe this is the problem?

I am not acquainted with the applets and I've just done a couple of dirty gui but is it still crashing with appletviewer? It might be easier to debug with that... but I may say crap.

We are using your Scan applet Example for scanning, but we are facing some problem while running the applet on fire fox 3.0 with O/S Linux open Suse & scanner HP 3050.

We face crashing problem when we go through the following steps.



1) Start Application.

2) Call applet.

3) Click on acquire.

4) Click on Start.

5) Scan image (It completely scan selected image & goes to desired path.).

6) When we click on close button.

7) The browser gets crashed.



It will very helpful if you give some solution on above problem.
