recover root passwd in hpux


hi everyone,
can anyone help me to recover root password in hpunix???

Well, you can't "recover" it, but you should be able to change it. Linux has a "single-user" mode - does HP-UX have something similar? If so, boot single-user then change the password with 'passwd'.

can u tell me step wise
and another problem when i reboot my box the monitor displays out sync range and give s me some range in Htz.

As for the display problem, I can't help ya there, sorry.

u are not getting the disply
actually ur screeen resolution has gone high
start ur PC in safe mode
and there go to display properties and
decrease the screen resolution.

Try This
This will do i suppose
and bytheway your monitor is of LG na.

sorry for the late reply but i have successfully changed the paswd.
another help plz
i am unable to c the logs from /var/adm/wtmp
how do u view the log in a readble fromat any third party tool is welcome
