Minix 3 won't boot on VirtualBox 3.2.2. Simething like a page error (maybe memory related). See attachment.

idea:try setting memory to 512 or something that is similar to real momory.

I tried 256 MB of memory, but it still didn't boot. Same message.

Upgraded to 3.2.6, no change in error.

Try QEMU instead, its more complete then VirtualBox when it comes to mimic x86 architecture, most oses work on VB, but also a lot have trouble to do so.

Qemu for Windows is IMHO not stable enough.
The above installation link has many options (and some known problems with "workarounds").

I have already looked at the installation guide. I still can't seem to get it to boot. It works fine on my laptop though.

Virtualbox works well with only a few OSes.

It seems to have problems running older Unix-style OSes. It even struggles with Linux-2.2.

The only real issue (VirtualBox3.2, MINIX 3.1.7) is with hardware acceleration (resulting in the kernel message you posted).

Are you absolutely sure that it's enabled (VT-x, AMD-V)?

True, but those aren't built to work in a VM.
MINIX3 is still used as an educational tool and patched to work with them.

They will ask you the same question though.
Double check your settings before posting there (VT-x, AMD-V needs to be enabled to make it boot).
Since most(?) of them seem to use VMWare, you can expect (using) that as second answer.

I don't have an acceleration tab in VirtualBox, and I can't find any settings like that in my BIOS; does that mean that my processor doesn't support it? I'm running an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200.

Replace your VM image's name for minix in the preceding command.
