Not any more progress, anyone know of a Minix forum I could post this in?
|
Upgraded to 3.2.6, no change in error.

@hda7
Try QEMU instead, its more complete then VirtualBox when it comes to mimic x86 architecture, most oses work on VB, but also a lot have trouble to do so. |

Start here: http://wiki.minix3.org/en/UsersGuide/DoingInstallation

The above installation link has many options (and some known problems with "workarounds"). |
I have already looked at the installation guide. I still can't seem to get it to boot. It works fine on my laptop though.
|
Virtualbox works well with only a few OSes.
It seems to have problems running older Unix-style OSes. It even struggles with Linux-2.2. |

Are you absolutely sure that it's enabled (VT-x, AMD-V)? . |

MINIX3 is still used as an educational tool and patched to work with them. Quote:
They will ask you the same question though. Double check your settings before posting there (VT-x, AMD-V needs to be enabled to make it boot). Since most(?) of them seem to use VMWare, you can expect (using) that as second answer. |
