MLED documentation revisited

I'm currently busy improving the MLED documentation. The online Installation and Configuration Guides will be replaced by one single "Installation Guide" in PDF format. The general idea is that folks who only have one computer (but not only those) will want to print out the documentation before starting the installation. Hence the idea of a printer-friendly document. Here's a first version:

I managed to simplify the installation procedure by getting rid of the tagfile hassle. The recommended method is now to simply install all package groups except KDE, KDEI and E, and let the trim.sh script do the work of trimming down everything. Apparently, quite many folks found using tagfiles too complicated, so here goes.

Last but not least, moving the documentation to PDF can only be positive for the website's general readability. Plus, it's much easier to link to archived versions of the documentation. Once MLED 14.2 will be out, the documentation for MLED 14.1 won't have to be replaced and can still be available.

As soon as this seems OK, I'll move the french documentation to PDF. I guess I'll also add a Migration Guide in PDF for those who want to move an existing Slackware installation to MLED.

Feedback welcome.

Cheers,

Niki

While offline and wireless-only installations are feasible, they're left as an exercise to the reader.

I just made some changes to the MLED site. The documentation has been
rewritten.

Here's the news:

The documentation:

Of course, french pages have also been modified accordingly.

Phew.
