Download Linux is a link over to the right, you could also go directly to the website. Your hard drive is plenty big enough or most, if not all, distros and it will boot.
I'll put that on hold: The D-Link NIC doesn't support Linux. Nice of them to tell me I thought.
Thanks again for the links! :-)
What is the model # of your D-Link card?
Before I wired the upstairs for ethernet cable, I'm pretty sure a D-Link wireless card I used ran on Linux. Answer here or on the MepisLovers.org hardware forum and maybe we can save you some dinero.
BTW, where are you in Wales? I used to know a guy a few years ago who lived someplace along the south coast --can't quite recall the town. Sounds like a gorgeous country.
As per title + Can I use this as a bootable OS on a 4 or 6gb drive? Will this be alright with a 533 Celeron?
Any advice appreciated! :-)
It may be a bit slow depending on how much ram that you have. Kde is resource hungry. You would probably do better with Dsl(damn small linux) but try them both. Maybe try mepislite 3.3.2. The older 3.3 would boot on smaller systems when the newer MEPIS versions wouldn't and dsl will boot for sure I think.

You're right, it's DSL I should be trying. I downloaded 2 versions of it today, one was an ftp and the other an http. I couldn't get either of them to install. I've downloaded and installed Edgy with no problems, is it the same method for DSL or am I missing something?
I'll keep the trials of MEPIS and Fedora C6 for my machine and try DSL etc on the project 533 Celeron.

Thanks for the replies. All the best! :-)
I would say go to linuxtracker, sign up and take dsl on torrent. Torrent is the best way to get an iso of any distro.
