I used to be able to play CNN streaming videos on Firefox, but now I can't. I am running SUSE 11.0.

I have found a solution however. I installed Opera for Linux and it works fine.

At least using Mepis 7 64 bit, I got CNN videos to work "out of the box" with Firefox 3.0.3. You might upgrade to 3.0.3 and see if that solves the problem.

Buy hey, if you like Opera, which is my favorite browser, you are set. Opera has a new version out, 9.62, which I think is great.

Also, downloading the latest Adobe flash might solve the Firefox problem but you might have to uninstal the old macromedia Firefox flash plug-in as the 2 flashes seem to conflict with each other.

It took a little horsing around with Opera to get the latest flash to work. I had to download the latest Adobe flash deb version while in Firefox, then add the flash plug-in into Opera. I stay in the graphical interface, not the command line route, and it is a hit and miss proposition until you find what works.

The cnn link does seem to load all right, but I still get no actual audio or video after selecting a video.

No issues with abc, tho. (I set this system up by following SilverBears excellent cut and paste guide on multimedia)
