unable to access my LS-120 drive using kernel 2.4.26

unable to access my LS-120 drive. Check info center and it is listed under SCSI. I get an error message "/dev/hdc: Input/output error. mount: I could not determmine the filesystemtype, and none was specified"
Check dmesg and hdc shows "bad access: block=2, count=1. Shows HFS+-fs: unable to read VHDR or MDB
I am running kernel 2.4.26.
Any help would be great.

Are you using Mepis? Which version?

Newer kernel / Newer version of Mepis will support SCSI better
