problem connecting to pppoe dsl with mepis

hello,

I installed simply mepis some time ago. I like it, but my main reason beside getting familiar with linux was internet security.
My HD is partitioned and I run win as well, but I wanted to run mepis mostly as i have dsl. Ever since installing it I had trouble connecting to my provider using pppoe (which I had done succesfully with mandriva and debian before, dont ask why I switched).
I get to the point where I have to select type of connection but I can't seem to find pppoe!!! and if i somehow go trough the wizard process, the connection is not established.
I know once this is set up on debian, on boot connection is started automatically.

Thanks

OK I managed to start the DSL connection but still it does not connect auto when starting mepis, I have to do "pon dsl-provider" and then its fine. is there a way to make it connect at startup?
