New Mepis guide is one impressive piece of work
bontoogobeanso has already posted this link but i feel it really deserves it's own thread. Hope you agree.
Topcat introduced this guide at mepislovers; Quote:
http://www.tomlinux.ca/ Other distro forums at linuxquestions have a sticky or two. Should this be the Mepis sticky? My vote is yes. Anyone else? |
Well that landed with a thud.
Why not a sticky with the most useful links? In addition to the one mentioned above The wiki http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Main_Page Saist's guide http://www.mepisguides.com/ and whatever others I might have missed. |
The wiki and Saist's guide is more useful for those who already installed or are about to install mepis. The video is for those who are thinking about it or just want to know what linux is, and I think it is really well done. I vote for it.

I support the sticky idea. Sorry muddywaters, I was out of town with no internet:cry:
Since this is the MEPIS branch of LinuxQuestions.org, newbies may be looking at each distro forum to help them decide what is right for them. At least, that's what I did. I thoroughly read Saist's guides before attempting to make my laptop a dual boot. I agree with Matz - Topcat's guide is very good for people who just want to see what Linux is about. I feel that videos like these will help convince people who are "on the fence" to give Linux a try. Topcat admits that the pace of his video is a little slow, and he is in the process of editing it to speed it up a little. Still great work, and worthy of a sticky.:D |
yup sticky it please!
