Mepis,, autoroute type progs

Hi is there anything like autoroute or route 66 that will run on mepis?
and is there a way of configuring thunderbird, so when you follow a link it opens firefox?

Default Browser

Hi, njeuk.

Well, there are a few possibilities as to why Thunderbird isn't using Firefox.
First, look in Firefox > Edit > Preferences > General tab
In the middle, there is a checkbox for "Default Browser." Mark it, then hit the "Check now" button and see if that makes the difference. I don't know if that will take effect immediately the next time you launch T-bird, or only the next time you log in, so try it both ways if you have to.

I assume T-bird has been launching Konqueror up 'til now?

There are other KDE setting you can adjust for preferred file associations, but trying this is faster, and a good place to start.

Please tell us if this answered your Q & also if the assumption about T-bird launching Konqueror is correct.

No, T-bird still launched Konqueror, even when Firefox was made default browser. looked in the preferences for all three programs no joy. but thanks i have un-installed Mepis and installed Ubuntu which i my system is much better. no problem with Konqueror.

i think when Mepis is installed there are too many programmes available with the initial install."you can't see the wood through the trees". Ubuntu, is from what i can see far easier.

Well, it makes sense to me to use what works for you.

In Mepis, my T-bird and KMail hyperlinks open up in Firefox, no problem.
