Nothing should stop someone from offering it to other users. Have to go searching :)

It looks just like Mepis 3.4 (with the difference that it comes with KDE 3.5) It also uses the same hardware detection, and it works the same -- the only difference that users will see will be that sources.list point to dapper repos and that if you do a dpkg -l you'll see "ubuntu" to the end of the packages.

I would advice general public not to install it: not because it's not good, but because is experimental and it's based on Dapper that's not released yet => things will break, it's only meant as a sneak peek.

it's pretty SWEET. i loaded it yesterday. it made it through the update with all of the repositories checked & didn't break. the firefox 1.5 font bug is still there. i run the mozilla package instead of the included one to get around that. i've been distro hopping trying to find one that had kde 3.5 & would let me have open office 2.0. i'm going to try to install the edutainment packages today. if that doesn't break it, it's a keeper.

6.0 Bata 1 (the latest) is now on distro watch. Enjoy. I've had it on a drive for a couple days now and it is solid. Lacks flash player though I think it can be installed, I just haven't had time to play.

I've got Rc 2 installed and it is sweet. I'll wait for beta 2 before I upgrade.

maury0324 04-30-2006 05:38 PM

Correction, it does have flash. I have ubuntu AMD_64 on another drive and it dosen't have flash but it can be installed. All these different distros I play with, gets me confused.

I am still using 6.0A1 and love it. I just broke CUPS, so now I have something to fix. :)

smiley_lauf 05-03-2006 02:43 PM

My laptop was overheating so I decided to keep away till the bug was fixed.
beta 2 will be out tomorrow for general download according to mepislover.com
