kde clock applet

Running mepis 7.0 dual booting with W98, recently adjusted clock for
daylight time, noticed that the kde clock applet shows exactly 8 hours
earlier time than the output of the "date" command. Clicking on the
applet to adjust time shows an analog clockface that agrees with the
"date" output but this doesn't agree with the digital reading shown by
the applet. I think I had this problem before & fixed it, but can't
remember how. Does anyone know which file to edit?

I had a similar problem once due to the option of setting date and time automatically.
At some point Mepis asks you if you like the hardware clock to be set to GMT or your local timezone

I just disabled this feature and I set the hardware clock myself so the time was the same on Windows and Linux

I have mine to set my State's Capital City & with auto sync to a server.

Works fine.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 11:21 PM.
