is there any fun() available in linux to find system uptime without using sysinfo

my requirement is to get the system uptime in seconds. But the sysinfo() system call tyrs to get other details (i.e raminfo available ..... like this some other details). So is there any other system call available that just returns me system uptime in seconds .. pls let me know.

thanks in advance.
cheers

Try 'uptime'. It's not in seconds though, it's in hours.
