Internet and printer problems...

Hey everyone,

I just got Mepis on my pc and i find it gr8! However I have two major problems:

1- The internet works just fine in the browser and mail program, however the GAIM cannot connect... if I try to update apt-get it doesn't connect... in synaptic if I include or add new repositories ... the connection doesn't work...

2- I follow the add a printer wizard and I get to the point where I am supposed to pick it from the long list of USB printer 1, USB printer 2,... and I can't find it.. i tried restarting my printer and tried every USB slot i have yet I does not work.... My printer is HP 6127 Deskjet (USB)

Thank you

just installed Mepis 3.4-3 and it seems to have installed well and runs great... until i try to do anything online

well, i just got online... possibly might work for you above, althogh not sure about your printer problems. i checked in Mepis config, the network interfaces
took a random shot int he dark and disabled Ath0 on boot, so it only loads when plugged in... i disabled then reststarted eth0 from the status tab.. and im putting this post thru my mepis :)... the adventure begins
