Fonts Too Small

I just installed MEPIS 6.5.00_32 and all my fonts are so small that I need to use a magnifying glass with my reading glasses to read everything.

I went to the Xwindow assistant and switched to 120 -dbi (the largest setting) and rebooted.

That had zero effect on the font sizes even though it was set to Medium.

Any ideas???

Thank you for your support!

What is your screen resolution? The higher the res, the smaller everything will be on the screen.

The original resolution was 1600x1200, but I changed it to 1020x768.

In any other distro, that would have fixed the problem. However in this edition of MEPIS, the fonts remain small. I even checked the box to use this setting when KDE starts up.

I even opened the new MEPIS Xsettings assistant and tried to repair that, but it failed as well.

Am I missing something here???

Have you tried KDE --> Settings --> Appearance --> Fonts?

Yes, I have tried that earlier, but I tried it again just now. I adjusted all fonts from 12 to 14. The desktop fonts and kicker fonts responded, but the application fonts did not.

How bizarre is that?
Thanks for the suggestion.

It's possible that the theme you're using is over-riding font options. Revert to the default KDE theme and see what happens.
