ethernet, unsure wether it is working for me
 
I am unsur whether mepis is detecting I have a ethernet port or not. I have the outpus of kuzdu -p and lshw

*The ehternet port of on the motherboard, motherboard is made by gigabyte and its the model GA-8SIMLH*

(remoed bits that were not to do withnetworking on all of above, left bits that I was not sure of).

So from the information I have provided above is mepis detecting I have a eternet port and is is loading a driver or module for it to get it to work. I have no idea from looking at thgat if its good or bad

mepis os centre under the networking section It displays the following

eth0: cant' connect Stop etho0 <button>
eth1: not found
ath0: not found
ra0: not found
wlan0: not found

wireless: not found

Im taking the fact is says it cant cnnect that it has found the port, because I dotn have anyof the other networks interfaces on the computer. I dont have a router to plug it into to check, I am just trying to found out if mepis has recognised it so I can go out and get my self an ethernet card before my adsl accoutnis set up and router arrives.

Looks to me like it shows up as eth0
You can check as root
ifconfig -a
