Does MEPIS use straight up Debian repositories?

Does MEPIS use the Debian repositories?

By this, I mean does it have its own set of almost completely unique repositories like Ubuntu?

A quick answer, Yes -it uses the Debian repositories( mainly unstable), and No it doesn't have its own almost completely unique repositories like Ubuntu.
