does Mepis like wireless?

I have been struggling for two weeks to set up a wireless card with Ubuntu 8.10 and I'm getting sick of it. I have a Compaq Evo N400c laptop and trying to get a Linksys WPC54g wireless card to work with it.

I used mepis once before and liked it. The only reason I did not keep using it was that I could not get my dialup modem to work with it. I could get it to work with Ubuntu (after a lot of effort, as is everything with Ubuntu).

Bottom line: Is wireless easy to set up on Mepis?
