Create Bootable Simply Mepis USB drive from CD ISO

Hey,
I just got the SimplyMepis LiveCD ISO from a friend. It has always been a Linux that I wanted to try out. I dont want to write the ISO to CD cos I dont have a blank cd lying around.
I do have a USB flash drive 1 GB lying about. I was wondering how I could setup the flash drive so that it will work just like the LiveCD i,e if I boot to the Flash drive SimplyMepis will start up.

Will this work? Its a knoppix guide and I dont know for SimplyMepis
I have access to Suse And Slackware boxes.
Thanks.
