Cannot upgrade mepis-oscenter package

Regardless if I use KPackage or Synaptic Package Manager, I cannot install the mepis-oscenter version 3.3.1. In KPackage I get the following:

<pt-get install --yes -s 'mepis-oscenter' ;echo RESULT=$?
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
mepis-oscenter: Depends: rsync but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
RESULT=100

I've tried finding rsync, but don't really know what I'm looking for. I'm at a loss as to what to do from here. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi

Have a look at section 3

APT HOWTO

rsync is available through the debian repositories you will need to add them to your /etc/apt/sources.list
Packages can be searched for on the Debian Home Page

actually you already have the debian repos, all you need to do is enable them. (also its smarter to install the whole simplymepis metapackage)

read this for how to enable the debian repos
