Y does KDE Forget everything?

KDE is screwing up all the time at the moment. I cannot get a full K-Menu back. I cannot open the home page and many modifications I have made have been reset. How can I fix it?

I assume this is under Mandrake. It's a bug caused by an update in 9.2. Open a terminal, su to root and type update-menus -v.

That should fix it.

Tried that does very little loads of messages come up and it stops on a one with gnome in it and does nothing. I want linux to work a lot but this is a serious inhibitor. Does it do this often?

Open the menu editor. Go to menu style and select all applications menu. If that doesn't work goto file->reload system menu(removes custom entries) and save. Lastly if that doesn't work go file->reload user config.
And no my Mandrake has never done this to me before but I picked up this technique when I broke the menu.

I don't have any of those options! I was fiddling with the different menu styles to see what they were like and selected the "simplified" one, and it shuffled my menu items around all stupid-like, and I can't figure out how to revert back.
