Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I left installation cd2 in the cdrom after installing an application. When I booted later the install screen came up asking if i wanted to install by cd. I cancelled the command and the system locked. I had to shut the power off and reboot. The boot loader displayed list and when starting linux, the nvidia screen showed as usual and then the blue screen which usually has the login. Screen went black and it started the Nvidia screen and blue screen. This time it went to the command line login. Startx from command line has the same results. Would appreciate any help on getting this straightened out.
Thanks for response ghost runner. I have just finished re-installing everything and updating. When I checked the files and logs, the only thing showing up was an xfree86 error message indicating that it must be a bug. Aparently x was trying to send a message to the hardware and it wasn't supposed to. I didn't understand the issue so I re-installed md10 and the nvidia driver. Everything is working great like it was and I learned a little more about linux. Thanks again
