Xsane and scanner

hello and welcome to the the time of the week where i ask the same question about sane and permissons.

I have a canoscan FB serious that uses a parrellel port. And i cannot us it becasue the permissions for my parport only allot root to access it. And further more the permissions cannot be changed due to drakperm... even if i do create a rule allowing access.

can anyone please give me step by step instructions on how to give me permissions to this port (note i cannot change it normally (chmod a+wr /dev/printer/0))
