X86_64 and Flash Plugin

I' m a new Linux User and i decided to start with Mandriva.
As i had a notebook with an AMD Turion 64 bit, i burned the 64 bit version of Mandriva 2006.

Everything is ok but i cannot install flash plugin for Firefox.
I tryed the script but a message warning me that that script (and only the script, nothing about the plugin) cannot be executed in 64 bit mode.
So, like macromedia write in the help file, i manually copied the files under plugins folder for mozilla firefox and mozilla.

Nothing happen. When i navigate to a page with flash, Firefox ask me to installa the plugins.

Any idea / suggestion?

It's better install a 32 bit version?

The flash plugin (along with others) is 32-bit only and will not work with a 64-bit browser. You can use the 32-bit version of firefox (and other browsers) wihout any problems.

Yes, the 32-bit version(s) will (or should) work just fine.

I do not use Mandriva but the rpm manager should be capable of removing the 64-bit version and installing the 32-bit version. You may have to configure the manager to do so. You may have to download and install the 32-bit version manually.

I use CentOS-4.2 and to do this manually it would be something like;

rpm -e mozilla firefox (to get rid of the 64-bit versions)
rpm -Uvh <CentOS http or ftp site> mozilla*.i386.rpm <CentOS http or ftp site> firefox*.i386.rpm
