Will Mandrake 10 solve my problems?
Since using Mandrake 9.1, I have had three problems. My computer never powers off. I have tried everything and no one here has found a solution to this problem, apart from recompiling a kernel, and I am not advanced enough to do that. Will a later version of Mandrake support my motherboard?
Half of the time I start the system I have to adjust my monitor settings, as the screen goes completly mad.
Most of the time when I start printing, I get my printer printing jiberish, I was told to switch the OAW of in the printer settings but have failed to find where I can do that.
So what shall I do try another distro, install another version of Mandrake or wait till someone can tell me how to fix these problems?
I am generally satisfied with my version of Mandrake, but these three probs have really wound me up as I can not seem to fix them.

We can never tell You did not tell what your motherboard is, we don't know your graphics card, we don't know your printer model... Check Mandrake's Hardware Compatibility list at their page.
About shutting down your computer, try:
su
modprobe apm
shutdown -h now
good luck!

I will give 10 a try. Can anyone tell me where to download it from and do I need to download an ISO image? It was a long time ago since I downloaded 9.1. If anyone can give me the exact url of a reliable source then I will be really gratefull.

Maybe it's better for you to get them from here:
http://www.linuxiso.org/distro.php?distro=29
That's for the 10.0 Community. I don't think 10.0 Official is available for download yet(?)
