Angry which version of java for mozilla 1.4

On Mandrake 9.2 I downloaded and installed java 1.4.2.04 and linked ns610-gcc32 libjava to mozilla plugins. Link is there, (blinking merrily) but java will still not work. What am I missing?

Of course, the question remained, what broke it. Seems that I had a little problem with syntax. ok now.
