Arrow Where has ifconfig gone?

Hi,

err....this might sound a bit like a stupid question but anyway :

I've just installed mandrake 10.1 and I can't run ifconfig. Where can I download a ifconfig package / or find it on the cds.

Thanks

It's found in the net-tools package (type urpmi net-tools as root). Installs in /sbin

I bet you tried to run ifconfig as an ordinary user.
Since ifconfig is in /sbin you probably just didn't have it in your $PATH.

I can't imagine net-tools not being mandatory during install.

bunnadik is right. Login as root and try ifconfig or if you have no rights to login as root ask your administrator to give you sudo permision.
