I'm using Mandrake 10.1 with KDE 3.2 and an on board display adapter of IBM computer, according to KDE the specs are:

VENDOR: Intel Corp.
DESCRIPTION: 865 Chipset Graphics Controller
Module: Card Intel 865

The problem occurs only when KDM starts. When it starts the screen is all blurry and the screen is "smooshed", like everything is twisted. But, when I move to one of the console displays (F1 for instance) and then return to the display console (F7) everything looks ok and I can work fine.

The same thing happens when logging out, when I log out and return to the KDM login screen everything is mixed up again, and when I do F1 and F7 it looks okay again.

I've been searching many forums and google results but haven't come up with any solution..

So the on-board display is sharing memory, how much memory do you have to start with
and what is / how fast is your main cpu

if you are dual booting, do you have any similar problems with Windows or any other OS on this system

give us a little bit more detailed info about your hardware
