1. you need a webserver - best suggestion here would be apache2
2. if you intend to do dynamic webpages you need the interpreter, perhaps a database
suggestions here would be php or cgi and for a db mysql or postgres
3. I would not advise you to run your website locally of a dsl line as your upload link (which is going to be the one used most) will not be fast enough to cover any amount of access.
if you are keen on running a private groupware server or a version controll server that works fine. but it is pretty slow!
