Warning: Unable to open an initial console Mandrake 9.1
 

Upgraded Mandrake 9.1 over older version of Mandrake with a dual boot with Windows 98. Older Mandrake never worked just fine. I think its a video thing. Upgrade went ok. I rebooted and chose Linux to boot, Everying was loading just right until an error message came up, "Warning: Unable to open an initial console." What does that mean and how do I aleviate the unable to open initial console problem? Please help.

and I would guess its your lilo file so if you agree, boot cd1 and use lilo rescue like this.
