virtual box error


I finished installing vb and when i tried to run win xp cd this error came out...

Code:
VirtualBox kernel driver not installed. The vboxdrv kernel module was either not loaded or /dev/vboxdrv was not created for some reason. Re-setup the kernel module by executing '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' as root.
VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED).

how can i execute '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup'..?

Did you try issuing the command as root in a console?

Hi Mr.mick-duck,

I have had some issues with Virtual box myself.....

Q1 Did you install virtual box by selecting it from the install options within Mandriva 2008.0?

You may be able to work around the issues by deselecting the current installed version, & obtain the following version from the link below;

http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Select Binaries (All Platforms) and follow the links to the required platform version in your case it will be mandriva 2008.0.

Whichever version you use, you should install kernel-desktop-devel or kernel-laptop-devel, as appropriate, for your running kernel.
