Well Big Newbie here again about ready to ask yet another dumb question... I have used rpm to install 2 programs. A theme manager and cd burning software. The two downloads worked with no problem, but I can't find where they installed at... I have looked about everywhere with no success.... I have mandrake 10.1 Official
What packages did you install. Always give as much information as possible in your posts. If you installed k3b it should be somewhere in kmenu -> system -> archivers (Don't ask my why Mandriva put it in that section of the menu instead of Multimedia like most distros).
one option you can use is find. find / | grep name_of_package will show you where everything is installed. Or another option is 'man name_of_package' will bring up the man page for that package if there is one.
will show you what files a package installed
If you prefer a GUI then menu->System->Configuration->Packaging->Remove Software and select 'Maximum Information'. You can now browse what's on your system.
