username and password for proxy (ftp install)

I'm trying to install Mandrake 10 using an ftp install, but my proxy at work requires a username and password. I've tried

PROXY: usernameassword@123.123.123.123
and
PROXY: gttp://usernameassword@123.123.123.123

The error message shows it's trying to resolve the U/P with DNS.
"Unable to resolve ..."

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get around this?
