Up untill a week ago i was running an xp1800 with an asus a7n266vm board & MAndrake 10. Both my usb stick & usb harddrive worked perfectly on it with the icons appearing on the desktop everytime.

I built a new pc with an Athlon XP2800 and an EPoX EP-8K9A7i motherboard. I installed Mandrake 10 (download edetion) alonside win xp home and everthing worked fine untill my usb devices stopped working in mandrake.

My usb stick works in xp, and xp "sees" the usb hard drive but says it doesnt recognise exactly what it is - which i think is down to crappy software that came with it.

In the end i decided to reinstall mandrake (not repair) & still nothing happens when i plug in any usb device. No icon appears, nothing.

What could be he problem?

I have no internet connection so i cant download updates straight to the pc.

Is there any where i can download update files and install them manually?
