USB items cause konqueror not to load

I've been trying for several days now to get my USB devices (thumbdrive and digital camera) to work. After plugging them in I run dmesg, and it shows the devices to have been found, they fail to mount however with both command line and GUI options(bad superblock, etc). The most irritating part is that once i plugin a device konqueror refuses to open. Any thoughts?

Thanks

Same here, but in my case it was my USB Kingston memory stick..The solution for me was to Update from a mirror
and include Bug fixes and updates..That did it..Must be something wrong in KDE, as it worked OK in Gnome..
Goodluck,

Yup, that's how you fix this problem!

This problem has been mentioned 1,000000000000000000 times, and it's not your fault. Go grab the Mandrake updates (bugs fixes, security, update) and it will fix this problem.

**history
When Mandrake first released 10.1 official, this problem was common on a lot of people. A few days later the released a fix for this. Unfortunately new users who do not know about this encounter this problem and post about this regularly.
