usb flash drives Mandrake 10.0

I have looked at other forums, but I can still not figure out how to get my usb flash drives to mount under Mandrake 10.0.

The main problem is /dev/sda does not exist. I think I have the scsi modules installed. After I get over that problem, I can mount them fine myself, but this one hurdle is becoming a pain.

Thanks in advance.

If you plug in a USB device, and then unplug without unmounting (if it auto-mounted, happens a lot), the device will not list as /dev/sda1 or such. Plug it in and see what the output of 'fdisk -l' is.

To mount my MP3 player I would do this:

# mkdir /mnt/mp3player/
# mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/mp3player

and that would do me, HTH.
