update to cooker and at boot after alsa start nothing happens

i was using 10.1 official then i remove all my medias and add the cooker media
then i upgrade
after the upgrade i restart .then after starting alsa 1.06 which was ok nothing happens
then i resatart in failsafe then at the same place after alsa it tells :
INIT : no processes left .......
then it enters single mode
at the command prompt i type then startx ,it says cammand not found then i type service dm start then it shows the nvidia splah screen and then a black blank screen , and this 2 or 3 times then return the command prompt

Cooker is a "beta" Mandrake distribution.

Usually upgrading is ill advised and will result in the problems you are seeing as the installers have not been fixed or finalized.

I'd caution you to reinstall 10.1 and apply the 10.1 updates until a newer version is actually released.

i've now solve it by myself .
i boot in failsafe then at the command prompt , i login as root then run startx , it gaves some errors then i i edit the xorg.conf file and delete the font that the xserver was using
then i restart the system , restart the dm manager then startx
then i could login now i'm using mandrake 10.2, kde 3.3.2, xfree 6.8. and everything is running allright .
By the way the kernel is 2.6.10 cool!!!!

Actually i hate using the same thing for very long time , and i like trying new things as soon as they are out so .....

Cooker is great !!!!!!!!!!

Yes the next version is shaping up quite nicely.

The .10 kernel is a definite plus.
