Two problems - DVD playback and audio

Hi folks - two issues.

How do I know EXACTLY which audio drivers have loaded? I have an Audigy card and am using the drivers that were installed at the start. The driver I can see in harddrake has thh description "EMU10K2 Audigy Audio Processor" but it doesnt say anywhere whether its ALSA or OSS. Help!

Secondly, I have installed Mplayer and DVD playback with the first codec has lots of interference lines all over the image - the second codec displays a "squashed" image and the others wont work at all...

So I thought right, I'll install Zine but it can't find my drive! On my desktop my DVD-ROM is CD-ROM (2) and physically its the slave on my second IDE channel (my two hard discs are on the first) - any ideas what I type in to tell it where my drive is????

Arghh the irritations of linux programs!

run "lsmod" the alsa modules all start with "snd_" and there are loads of them, e.g intel810 (OSS) and snd_intel8x0 (ALSA)

what is "the first codec"???

make sure you have installed the REAL version of http://mplayerhq.hu and not the mandrake version. then....

mplayer dvd://1

to play the disc.
