Totem cant play movies?

I have Mandrake 10 Download Edition (not commuinity). When I put a DVD into my DVD-Rom drive, say a DVD of a music band. The DVD I have plays the intro but when I hit play movie I get "The Movie 'Error Reading NAV packet' could not be read. Sometimes tho I get (wit the same band DVD) "The source seems encryted, and can't be read. Are you trying to play an encrypted DVD without libdvdcss?"

Then with another DVD (in this case its Finding Nemo) I get that NAV Packet error again. But with Finding Nemo it WONT play the intro like the band DVD.

So how do I fix this and what is libdvdcss and where so I get it?

And this is completely off topic: where do I get pico for Mandrake?

UPDATE: AVI files play fine.

Try to get pico from

rpm.pbone.net

but are you sure there isn't one in mdk?

and for "libdvdcss" I know it is in the PLF sources, that is where I got it from. I could not get any dvd to play untill I installed it.

Libdvdcss is a portable abstraction library for DVD encryption (which most commercial DVD`s use)You will need to install it to get encrypted DVD playback . You will probably need the xine navigation plug-in installed as well as totem uses the xine engine. Xine and it`s plug-ins will be on your mandrake install disks. You should be able to get libdvdcss from the PLF but you can get it from other places as well if you google around a bit.

Hope this helps, cheers

That an easy one. When you out at the pf site add the distrubion mirror. Then youll have all the rpms. It will look for the cd and not finding it it willl go out to the ftp site for the rpm. After loading the ftp site you can alway remove cd as sources and let anytime you need a rpm just let it go out to the site and dosnlod it.
