using mdk10.0CE, I need to install my nvidia GF440FX drivers, after folowing instructions and changing /etc/inittab to default to single user mode (1), root gets an authentication failure - this did not happen on 9.1 when I installed (and I know the p/w is correct) - any way of editing the inittab file as normal user, just to get X back up again?
