System Configuration won't always start?

I installed Mandrake 10.0 Official the other day, and it's working great except for at least one thing I've found so far:

After being logged in for a while, doing various things like browsing the web and playing a game, I do this:

"Start Menu" -> System -> Configuration -> Configure Your Computer

The taskbar shows that it's loading... but nothing ever happens - no window comes up. After a while it's removed from the taskbar. This keeps happening. When I log out and log in again, it works fine again.

Any thoughts?

Thanks, Jakob.

had that exact same problem. stop your firewall and see if it still happens.
if it doesnt:

add this line to your iptables rules
iptables -I INPUT 1 -i lo -j ACCEPT

i saved the rules and since then kde and gnome are loading much faster and dont have that mandrake control center error anymore (had it too in Konqueror when i wanteed to browse my folders)

Hmmm... the /etc/rc.d/init.d/iptables reads a file called /etc/sysconfig/iptables which is not there. I generated it with ./iptables save, but that doesn't help much.

Where exactly would you add this line?

Thanks, Jakob

Running the line manually _does_ seem to help by the way! The machine in on all the time, so I'll just keep it like this to see if the problem resurfaces.
